A unique piece of original art reveals more than a camera can capture.
First Meeting
Our first meeting will be to discuss the details of your commission such as:
* My pricing depends on the size of the work, the number of subjects in the composition, complexity of the work, and any time constraints or unusual circumstances.
After we talk it over and make specific decisions, we’ll sign a contract of agreement. I require a payment of one-half the total agreed fee for the work as a deposit before I begin.
Second Meeting
I like to come to you and take photos of the subject or scene from several points of view and under various lighting conditions. Also, if a portrait is being commissioned, a costume change might be fun! I can meet you on location or in your home. The photo session usually takes one or two hours.
Email Meeting
After a careful review of your images, I select several views of the subject that I think would make an excellent piece and I email these images to you for your comments and recommendations. When we both agree on a composition the work begins.
Portraiture
If you have commissioned a portrait I prefer to have a sitting with the subject in my studio to adjust the color and detail. When this is not possible ( such as with portraits of young children and pets) I will refer to the photographs.
Review of the Work
When the artwork has been completed, you will need to initial the contract and pay the remainder of the balance owed to receive your painting.
Framing and Shipping
Framing, shipping, and sales tax are not included in the price. I’m happy to consult with you regarding the selection of a frame.
